CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

The development of curriculum resources and curriculum units in the arts that embrace a comprehensive approach to teaching and learning in and through the arts has been a part of the Institute since its inception. In addition to the development of materials, the Institute has been involved in developing models and processes for curriculum development and the actual implementation of curriculum.

The most current project that the Institute has been involved in is with the Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art (CASETA) . Three prototype units - for early childhood education, one for elementary school students, and one for middle school students – were developed based upon the work of artists who lived and worked in Texas between 1820 and 1965.
